Acoustic Measurement System

AMS Tank

This exciting new product from Sonora Medical Systems was designed from the ground up to solve many problems associated with older style acoustic power tanks, providing a compact, mobile integrated platform to support today's sophisticated ultrasound product development needs.

The PG/AMT is configured in the industry-standard "shoot down" orientation (keeping transducer cables and operator hands out of the water) with a usable hydrophone scanning range of 20x20x20cm. The design features high quality linear bearing and lead-screws to ensure accurate, repeatable positioning without the need for software backlash compensation; the standard positional resolution is better than 0.02mm in all dimensions, making the system suitable for measurements up to 40MHz.

The PG/AMT also incorporates several novel design features that greatly simplify setup procedures and facilitate measurement turn-around time. These include a universal probe holder with easy-to-use gymbal mount adjustments and a quick release hydrophone holder that requires no tools or hardware to secure or remove the hydrophone. The PG/AMT is designed to be moved easily for filling and emptying convenience and can be placed near the system under test.

The PG/AMT system is operated using the higly developed Sonora Acoustic Measurement system (AMS) Software. The PG/AMT uses an Ethernet-based interface, allowing for quick integration into existing corporate IT environments. With the built in Ethernet hub and optional Ethernet-based oscilloscope, the entire system can be operated and monitored remotely from anywhere on the network. The Sonora AMS Software platform can also be configured to control the user's system under test, permitting unattended measurement of multiple test configurations.

When combined with Sonora's AMS Software and our PVDF hydrophones, the PG/AMT system provides the acoustic measurement specialist with a complete "turnkey" acoustic measurement station solution. Optional training for acoustic measurement with our turnkey solution is available at our Sonora home office in Longmont, Colorado, or at your site. The AMS Software can also be customized to meet your specific requirements. Sonic Tech, Inc. and Dr. Mark Schafer provide this optional software customization service.
