While phantoms detect some artifacts in an ultrasound image, they fail to provide accurate and quantitative quality assurance data. The FirstCall test system analyzes each element in a transducer array to locate malfunctions even before they affect the image.

On every report, FirstCall shows the exact location of any dead or weak elements and identifies other integrity problems such as a delaminated lens, cable break, or contaminated connector. An extensive test database and easy to read reports allow probe tests to be recorded and tracked, maximizing your service program benefits. With the FirstCall test system, the difference between abuse, manufacturing defects, and natural deterioration is strikingly clear.

A complete FirstCall test system is easily transported to different testing sites or can be installed at a stationary testing area. An optional carrying case is available for added portability.

To test a transducer using FirstCall:

  1. Connect a probe to the FirstCall and insert the scan head into the probe holder.
  2. Pick the right target and align the probe according to the on-screen details.
  3. "Test", "Print", and "Save" the report.
